AESTHETIC SURGERY

Forehead lift

Surgical approach

Frontoplasty

Drooping eyebrows and a wrinkled forehead are corrected by a "forehead lift" (Frontoplasty) called "0.0.3". This technique, taught by Dr. Fanous, is often performed in conjunction with eyelid surgery or a facelift.

Surgery details

Only three very small incisions are placed above the hairline. The surgery involves lifting the forehead without cutting the expression muscles between the eyebrows. As a result, the eyebrows are slightly raised, giving you a younger and more relaxed expression. The incisions are then closed very meticulously. Hair is not cut, and there are no visible incisions on the forehead or face.

Duration: Forehead lift surgery lasts about one to two hours.

Anesthesia... without general anesthesia

Local anesthesia with sedation is used for your forehead lift. Therefore, the plastic surgery for the forehead lift is performed by Dr. Fanous without the need for general anesthesia. You can return home on the same day as the surgery

Frontoplasty

Recovery time

You may experience numbness, itching, weakness in the forehead, or slight hair loss along the incisions for several weeks to a few months after the surgery.

Generally, you are presentable, and you can return to work two to three weeks after forehead lift surgery.

Result

Forehead lift results

In most cases, you'll look a few years younger after the operation... and you'll keep that age difference in the future. To maintain the result longer, it's a good idea to have a botox injection every 5 months, to diminish the movement of the expression muscles between the eyebrows (which weren't cut during surgery). The face-lift is not a panacea. Even if you can look, say, ten years younger, you'll still continue to age. Ideally, to maintain your appearance, you should continue to receive minor treatments (injections, peels, plasma, laser) after your initial operation, to compensate for the aging process.

Possible complications

Risks

As with any other surgical procedure, complications are possible but infrequent: infection, bleeding, excessive scarring, sensory changes, skin necrosis, asymmetry, numbness, pain, muscle weakness, nerve weakness, loss of sensation, loss of mobility, etc.
