AESTHETIC SURGERY
Facelift in Montreal
A “face lift” (Rhytidectomy) improves the appearance of the cheeks and neck. It does not include the eyelids or the forehead.

Surgical approach
Optimal Mobility
Dr. Fanous employs a face lift technique he has published and taught, known as 'Optimal Mobility.' Through this sophisticated approach of 'mini-dissection,' a result is achieved with minimal surgery, resulting in less swelling.

Surgery details
The hair is not shaved. The incision begins above the ear, where it is concealed in the hairline. It then extends in front of the ear and into a natural crease where the scar is least visible. Finally, the incision continues behind the ear and along the edge of the hairline at the neck, resulting in a scar that can be hidden by hair. So, at the end of the facelift, the skin is tightened, and the excess is removed. For a more lasting result, a meticulous procedure is used to tighten the muscle beneath the skin. This advanced facelift technique enhances the appearance of the neck and cheeks, but its effect is limited in areas with fat deposits, such as under the chin. These must be suctioned using a liposuction technique with a thin tube connected to a suction device. This delicate tube is inserted through a small incision, and the excess fat is suctioned out.
Duration: The face lift surgery lasts about three to four hours.
Anesthesia... without general anesthesia
Local anesthesia with sedation is used for your face lift. Therefore, the plastic surgery for the face is performed by Dr. Fanous without the need for general anesthesia. You can return home on the same day as the face lift. The return home is done on the same day as the rhinoplasty.
Facelift
Recovery time after facelift
Generally, the face will be presentable, and patients can return to work two to three weeks after the surgery. There may be a feeling of tightness and possibly numbness around the ears for a few weeks following the surgery.

The facelift can only slow down the aging process. It can turn back the clock but doesn't stop it! However, you will look younger after the surgery, and you will maintain that age difference in the future. The facelift is not a cure-all. Even if you can appear, for example, ten years younger, you will still continue to age. Ideally, to maintain your appearance, you will need to continue receiving minor treatments (such as injections, peels, plasma, laser) after your initial surgery to counteract the aging process.

aging
The age: how does it affect your face?
Aging is not just about sagging skin. As we age, multiple changes come together and conspire to give us an expression that is both 'old,' 'tired,' and 'sad.' This is why various minor interventions on the nose, lips, eyebrows, etc., are often performed in conjunction with or after a facelift.
If only the facial skin is tightened, the patient may not appear natural but rather pulled. If you are relatively young, for example, at the age of 35, it is ideal for you to undergo injections or minor surgical interventions as soon as the first signs of aging appear.
Frontoplasty
If your eyebrows are low, they are often corrected with a forehead lift at the same time as the facelift operation (see: forehead lift). Drooping eyebrows intensify the wrinkles on your upper eyelids and tend to give you a depressed and tired look. Drooping eyebrows and a wrinkled forehead are corrected by a forehead lift (Frontoplasty) called '0.0.3.' This technique, taught by Dr. Fanous, is often performed in conjunction with eyelid surgery or a facelift.
Possible complications
Risks
Like any other cosmetic surgical procedure, complications are possible but uncommon: infection, bleeding, excessive scarring, sensory changes, skin necrosis, asymmetry, numbness, loss of sensation, loss of movement, pain, etc. The facelift is not a panacea. Even if you can appear, for example, ten years younger, you will still continue to age. Ideally, to maintain your appearance, you will need to continue receiving minor treatments (such as injections, peels, plasma, laser) after your initial surgery to counteract the aging process.
