Treatment details
This skin treatment consists of two parts:
- the cream program, which lasts 4 to 8 weeks, followed by
- the program of light, medium, or concentrated peeling.
Payment for the peel treatment is done in two installments: an initial deposit at the beginning of the treatment, followed by the balance at a later date. The cost of the peel covers all appointments with the assistants and all phone consultations. The initial set of products required for pre-peel preparation is provided to you free of charge. Additionally, you will need to obtain a few prescribed medications from the pharmacy.
Duration of treatment
The procedure is relatively short (30 to 40 minutes). The peel is performed under local anesthesia with only numbing creams and causes mild discomfort. There will be no injections! You can return home on the same day.
Cream program
Before peeling: The cream program
A carefully selected combination of products chosen by Dr. Fanous is used morning and evening. These products include cleansers, astringents, exfoliants, and moisturizers. This program typically lasts for four to eight weeks. Generally, your skin will appear brighter. Your fine lines will be less noticeable. Additionally, your brown spots may become less pronounced than before. You can return home on the same day.
Candidates
This program can be used for:
- regardless of age
- regardless of skin color (white, black, brown, etc.)
- regardless of skin type (thick or thin, oily or dry)
- the treatment is not limited to the face alone, but it can also be applied to the hands, neck, or décolletage.
What to expect
Generally, this treatment:
- causes mild discomfort
- leaves skin looking natural (neither waxy nor artificial)
- gives an ordinary skin color (and not a pale, contrasting skin)
- does not use phenol, except in very few cases of "spot peel" revision for persistent spots.
The T.C.A. (light, medium, or concentrated) peel program
Following the preparation with creams, T.C.A. (trichloroacetic acid) peeling is essential to maintain skin improvement. Ideally, it is repeated regularly every few years. T.C.A. peeling involves applying an exfoliating solution (trichloroacetic acid) to the face. Dr. Fanous performs one of these three types of peels depending on your needs:
- The light peel (low concentration)
- The medium peel (medium concentration)
- The concentrated peel (high concentration)

After the treatment
Recovery time
Generally, you are presentable after three to five days following the procedure. Generally, the skin will continue to improve over a period of six months. So, be patient. Sun exposure is prohibited for the two months following the procedure (ideally, never expose your skin to the sun, as the sun ages the skin).
Side effects
Limited side effects such as spots, itching, and redness appear after the procedure. These symptoms are painless. Generally, the skin gradually improves, transitioning to a rosier and clearer shade.
Risks
Possible complications
Like any other skin procedure, temporary or permanent complications are possible but uncommon: infection, inflammatory reaction, skin discoloration (hypopigmentation, hyperpigmentation), redness, scarring, limited results, etc.
